Welcome to the Pandemic Pantry

The Pandemic Pantry is a buying club of (mostly) West Philly neighbors. We came together at the beginning of the city’s stay-at-home order to access fresh, healthy food while avoiding supermarkets. Anyone can join the Pantry. If you’re interested, read more about us in the How It Works section.

How it all began. I started the Pandemic Pantry the first week of the shut down because I was nervous about supply chains going haywire. For totally selfish reasons, I decided to organize some friends to share a few cases of fresh, organic produce and pantry items. Within weeks, the group grew to 100 people through word-of-mouth. It took the interest and involvement from the community for me to understand that this side project was responding to several needs: a way to shop while maintaining social distance, super fresh produce, and an opportunity to support local farms and food producers.
