Why Join a Buying Club?

We love buying clubs* and here’s why:

  • It’s a no frills model that enables us to operate with low overhead costs and pass on those savings to our members.

  • It’s a low-waste model that, unlike a traditional store, has the flexibility to minimize packaging. In addition to cutting down on plastic bags, we take back and reuse containers for packing bulk items like coffee beans and nuts.

  • Product selection is driven by the members. For instance, we learned early on that some of our members care most about organic production, and some care most about affordability. Without compromising our overarching value of supporting local growers, PanPan’s produce selection is a mix of Certified Organic and conventional fruits and veggies.

  • Transparency is a core value of PanPan, and our model makes it easy to share pricing and sourcing information.

  • Members can give feedback and get a response from someone who can address their question, concern or request. The weekly order form includes a comments section and we actually read them!

  • As operators, we can engage our community on decisions that impact the business. When we ask our members a question, they answer! From the mundane to the political, our food choices have impact on the HELP ME FINISH THIS SENTENCE

In a nutshell, PanPan can be creative and work collaboratively to create the food system that we want to see in the world.

* Wikipedia definition: A buyers club or buying club is a club organized to pool members' collective buying power, enabling them to make purchases at lower prices than are generally available, or to purchase goods that might be difficult to obtain independently.
